Nearly all of our team members are from rural areas of Minnesota, so we possess a strong work ethic, understand the issues and ideals of our clients, and value the trust our clients place in us.

Our team includes six partners who lead our firm in providing progressive ideas and dependable guidance to each and every client.
Chad Piehl, CPA is a partner of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, P.A., practicing in all accounting and tax areas for the private companies and individuals he serves. Chad offers accounting and consulting services as well as investment and estate planning, having earned his Series 7 Securities License and Certificate of Educational Achievement in Estate Planning.
In addition, Chad is a nationally known lecturer on income tax matters and lectures throughout the country. He has testified before Congress and the Minnesota State Legislature.
Chad serves his profession as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, past President and current member of the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, and as the past Secretary-Treasurer and Minnesota State Director for the National Society of Accountants.
Steven Hanson, CPA is a partner of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, P.A. Steve specializes in assisting all types of small businesses, with an emphasis in the agriculture and manufacturing industries, providing auditing, accounting and tax planning services. He also works with many individuals for all of their tax and financial planning needs.
Steve is a past President and current member of the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, the current Secretary-Treasurer and past State Director of the National Society of Public Accountants, and a member of the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has served on many local boards, including the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Authority, and is actively involved in his church and other civic organizations.
John Beckman, CPA is a partner of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, P.A. with over twenty-five years of experience in public accounting. John works closely with his clients to identify and provide the accounting, auditing, tax planning, and management advisory services that they need to achieve their financial goals. He also works with many individuals to handle their accounting needs, including tax planning and preparation.
As the audit and accounting partner of the firm, John's role is to keep the professional staff up to date with current audit and accounting standards and to implement changes as needed. This role also includes overseeing the firm's peer review process to ensure that our services are always performed and documented in accordance with the appropriate standards.
John serves on the Quality Review Oversight Committee of the Minnesota State Board of Accountancy and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Minnesota Society of Certified Public accountants, Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, and the National Society of Accountants.
Timothy Robinson, CPA is a partner of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, P.A. with twenty years of experience in public accounting and over six years of experience in corporate accounting management with a public company. Tim has earned his master's degree in accounting and uses his expertise to provide auditing, accounting, consulting, and tax planning and preparation services to the businesses and individual clients he serves.
Tim is a past President and current member of the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, the National Society of Accountants, and the Lions Club of Cokato, and is a past president and current member of the Cokato Chamber of Commerce.
Kim Bute, CPA is a partner of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, P.A. with over twenty-two years of experience in public accounting and has been with the firm since its beginning. Kim works closely with a variety of small businesses, providing accounting, auditing, and income tax services as well as income tax services for individuals.
Kim is a member of the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She has also served on the board of directors for several non-profit organizations, including the Heart of Minnesota Animal Shelter and the United Way of McLeod County, and helped with the formation of Crow River Habitat for Humanity.
Scott Ziegler, CPA is a partner and CEO of Piehl, Hanson, Beckman, P.A. He brings over ten years of knowledge in public accounting to the firm's accounting and tax practice, where he serves both private companies and individuals. Scott practices in a variety of accounting and tax areas, focusing on business and individual tax preparation, corporate accounting, business consulting, and tax planning for a diverse set of industries.
Scott is a member of the Minnesota Association of Public Accountants, the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He has also been an active member of the Hutchinson Jaycees for eight years, where he has received the Jaycee of the Year Award, served as President of the chapter, and acted as the Commodore for the annual Hutchinson Jaycee Water Carnival.
